ETFO Provincial Negotiations Update

February 13th Update:

We are writing to inform you of the announced job actions by the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) for next week.

Bloorview School will be closed to elementary students next Friday, February 21st and transportation will be cancelled.

February 10th Update:

Just a reminder of the announced job actions by the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) for this week:

Bloorview School will be closed of elementary student (Kindergarten to Grade 8) on Tuesday, February 11th and Wednesday, February 12th and transportation will be cancelled.

February 5th Update:

As previously communicated, Bloorview School will be closed to elementary students tomorrow (February 6) and Friday, February 7th. 

In addition, if no agreement is reached, ETFO members will continue to engage in one-day rotating strike and a one-day full provincial strike each week. 

Next week, these strikes will impact Bloorview School on Tuesday, February 11th and Wednesday, February 12th. If these strikes proceed, Bloorview School will be closed to elementary students on those two days.

January 28th Update:

Please note that we have been notified by the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) that Bloorview School and other Section 68 schools will be included in Phase 5 of their Strike Protocol. This means that if no agreement is reached at the Provincial level by January 31st, we will be impacted by a complete withdrawal of services on specific days. 

This next phase of the escalating strike protocol includes a one-day rotating strike and and one-day full provincial strike each week

These strikes will impact Bloorview School on Thursday, February 6th and Friday, February 7th. If these strikes proceed, Bloorview School will be closed to elementary students on February 6th and February 7th.

January 17th Update:

We are pleased to let families know that we have been assured by the Transportation carriers that busing services for our students will not be interrupted next week.

January 16th Update:

As you know, Bloorview School will remain open through this phase of labour negotiations. However, other area school boards may be closing their schools next week. Unfortunately, this may disrupt bus services provided to our students.

We ask that you please monitor our website at: Bloorviewschool.ca or follow us on twitter @BloorviewSchool for any updates.

In the event that transportation services are disrupted in the Toronto region, Bloorview School will remain open. Parents can drop off and pick up students at our regular times 8:30a.m. and 3:20p.m.

January 15th Update:

We are pleased to let you know that Bloorview School will not be affected by the one day withdrawal of services on Monday, January 20th  by teachers who are part of the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO).
